James 1:17

James 1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change[1]

God is the author of all goodness in the world. We should not err in creating any other misconceptions of Him. God is not, cannot be, the author of anything that is evil; but must be acknowledged as the cause and spring of everything that is good. Every good gift and every perfect gift come from the Father above. God is the ultimate author of light, and no changes of brightness or clarity occur and no fluctuation of His character happens. He is the ultimate source of goodness and love; and no evil can come from Him. This is the God we worship. This is the God we strive so diligently towards, once we hear His voice calling us. All perfect gifts does not refer to gifts of the spirit, but the most perfect of gifts, that of life and love. His gift to bring us to Him, to break the bonds of sin by the death of His Son. These are the most perfect gifts He could offer, and they are available for those He calls upon.
