Philippians 2 Verse 3

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.[1]

Pride is a competitive element in our nature, causing us to love ourselves above others. It divides and promotes conflict rather than harmony. The contract to pride, is humility, lowering ourselves before others, accepting a plate of service, with the concern of others placed ahead of ourselves. We need to have this conduct as we approach any situation that we can help others. We shouldn’t dwell on the thought, because the longer we contemplate doing the task, the more our pride seeps in. We should act hastily and without thought, moving to help and love others in any fashion we are able to. We should react so quickly, that our left hand doesn’t even know what the right hand is doing.
