Galatians 1 Verse 11

11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel.[1]

Paul is under fire from his opponents’ charge that he is actually in rebellion against the Jerusalem apostles. Paul’s opponents claim that the gospel that Paul is preaching is at odds with his brothers in Jerusalem. Paul makes the clear stance here in verse 11 that his authority and gospel comes from God alone, and his brothers in Jerusalem merely confirmed this. Paul continues to assert this statement for the remaining verses in chapter 10. This is the gospel, that Jesus gave Paul on the road to Damascus. This gospel did not oppose what the Apostles were teaching but confirmed it; and that is something we must note today. We must put all teaching under the lenses of scripture and ensure what is being spoke at the pulpit is truly biblical. We have many teachers today that are peddling a false gospel, not adhering to the one giving by Jesus Christ. We must be in our Bible’s daily to ensure we have discernment to know what is biblical and what is false.
