2 Corinthians 10 Verse 5

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ[1]

False wisdom and sophisticated arguments were used by the servants of Satan in their attacks on Paul as he shows here that he was able to destroy every argument. Paul knew his opponents in Corinth were servants of Satan, but he held no fear for the power of the Holy Spirit is greater. Earlier in the text Paul stresses the difference between earthly wisdom and the cross, warning the Corinthians to not be swayed by the delusional world. Be careful where you gather your wisdom, or where you hear the word of God preached. We must be able to discern from the false gospel and make a stance against them being preached. We must take captive every thought, every motive, desire and decision and ensure they belong to Christ.
